Workshop, Theme Camp and Installation Application Guidelines
Tanglewood Music and Arts Festival. This year our vibrant growing festival moves to the mainland. In the stunning rolling hills and ranges, in a beautiful valley only 1.5 hours north of Melbourne. The event runs from the 30th of December to the 2nd of January. We are a not for profit organisation with a mission to create a fun, safe and affordable place to celebrate New Years Eve while supporting young Australian up and coming and already established artists.
Although we have made our task a little easier by moving off French Island and on to the main land this year, It takes an extraordinary number of dedicated people to put on a festival such as this and we really appreciate you wanting to be one of those people.
Whether you are an artist of any media, bring art along, create a space, spread the word or teach your talents. We would love to have any photographers on site on the 29th or earlier if they wish to capture some of the set up and get more involved with the crew. It is important to us to capture the best parts of the event and put it out there into the world so a plan of what to capture may need to be discussed with the organisers to best achieve this.

You can leave your car at the security station at main entrance and be dropped on site or If you are staying there will be car parking in the main crew camping area. We can then add you to a Tanglewood crew group which will allow you to organize lifts and talk to people about the event.
Tanglewood Festival organisers will have an are equipment can be left in the security station where it should be very safe, but please note – artists are responsible for the security and storage of their instruments.
Tag and Testing
All gear that an artist supplies that you would like to use on the day must have an up to date test tag on it (more than 1 month from expiry) This is a requirement and any equipment not tagged can not be used.
Power usage is an important thing for us to get right, because we are relying on generators to power our site. Not only are you required now to test and tag all your appliances and cables, but we ask for your specific power requirements (in Amps) at the time of application. This will be a contributing factor to your application approval, and power usage will be monitored by our electrical staff on site.
You should be able to work this out easily enough by looking at the label on each appliance or power adaptor and giving us a list of the type of appliance and how many watts it is. This includes each light, or phone charger even the smallest thing can cut power to the site so you need to be thorough.
There are a couple of stages at the event, make sure you receive a map at the entrance so that you can find your way around the site. It is a good idea to check in with your relevant stage or site manager and let them know that you are there and if you have trouble go to the info tent and one of our friendly volunteers will help.
Artist fees will be paid on receipt of a valid tax invoice and payments will be made after the event, Direct Deposit payments (Banking details must be provided on valid tax invoice). Valid Tax Invoices must be submitted by Monday the 9th of January 2017.
