Rules, TERMS & CONDITIONS & POLICY

It is a condition of entry to Tanglewood Festival that you follow these rules, and agree to the terms and conditions set by the event. Tanglewood Festival reserves the right to refuse entry to anyone that poses a threat to the safety of themselves or others and issue an eviction notice without warning if these rules & conditions are not met. Please also read the terms of sale and refund policy of the ticket purchase set by the event.

Rules 

  • No Dickheads, this includes but not limited to behaviour that makes people feel unsafe or uncomfortable, assault, sexual harassment, violence, or gender based violence, discrimination, illegal activity, trespassing and/or assisting trespassers. 

  • Zero tolerance to trespassing. Trespassers will be evicted, prosecuted and Victoria Police notified

  • No illicit drugs or overconsumption of alcohol

  • No fires, no gas bottles, gas cookers, fuel, or open flames of any kind, no fire toys (LED and lights ok) No incense, candles or sparklers. 

  • Leave no trace – everything that comes with you leaves with you, keep the place tidy and clean up after yourself. Take your rubbish home

  • No plastic bottles or one-off-use items

  • No nudity, it is a family-friendly space

  • No nangs

  • No renegade stages, generators, or sound systems in campsites

  • No glass, it is a BYO event just no glass containers

  • No mirrors can be removed from vehicles

  • No driving on-site after arrival, with the exception of registered crew vehicles and emergency services. Arrival after dark must park in the day parking area and walk in. Cars parked on roads or outside camp blocks will be towed. 

  • For your safety, no swimming on site, no bare feet, no camping under trees

  • No pets or dogs, with the exception of registered guide dogs. This includes birds, rats and cats. 

  • No climbing of trees, structures, or art installations

  • Keep your work and campsites clean

  • No bean bags

  • No drones (unless you are a festival-approved licensed operator)

 

Most of all respect all around you and keep yourself and others safe. Encourage good behaviour and don’t be afraid to ask if someone is ok or needs assistance. Report any suspicious behaviour to the closest staff member.

 

Terms and Conditions

Please be aware that your ticket which acts as a contract between the event and ticket holder, will be exchanged for a wristband at the gate before entering site. This wristband must be worn at all times. It insures your passage on and off the event site. Tickets cannot be resold or transferred for profit or commercial advantage. If this occurs the festival tickets are voidable and the ticket holder may be refused entry to or be ejected from the festival site.

This Festival ticket is sold by Born Rhythm Entertainment Unit Trust, (Tanglewood Festival) ABN 5838 0510 891. Purchase of this ticket constitutes a contract between Tanglewood Festival, the purchaser/ticket holder which includes volunteers, workers, staff, contractors, stall holders, performers, artists or facilitators and, in the event that the festival ticket is purchased on another’s behalf, the festival ticket holder.

 

Tickets are sold subject to the following terms and conditions which form part of the contract between Tanglewood Festival, the purchaser and/or festival ticket holder. The terms and conditions of sale include the following:

  • A change in personal circumstances of the festival ticket holder does not entitle the return or exchange of the festival ticket, but may sell it on for no more than its original purchase price ensuring the new ticket holder obtains a valid name change on the ticket.  

  • Festival tickets will not be refunded under any circumstances, including but not limited to: the possible non- appearance of any particular person or group expected by the festival ticket-holder, whether advertised or not, or any adverse weather conditions beyond the reasonable control of the event organiser, Covid or other health restrictions, cancelation or advisory cancellation set by council and/or authorities due to safety, permitting or severe weather conditions. Programming & venue is subject to change at any time without notice.

  • Lost, stolen or damaged festival tickets will not be replaced.

  • Festival ticket only provides access to the areas as indicated by signage at the event.

  • Entry to Tanglewood Festival is only permitted to festival ticket holders who agree to the terms and conditions and Follow 
all the Festival Rules viewable at www.tanglewoodfestival.com.au/rules-terms-and-conditions . Tanglewood Festival reserves the right to evict any person who does not comply with the terms and conditions and/or does not comply with the festival rules and/or is involved in an illegal activity.

  • Audio visual equipment (including but not limited to cameras, video recorders, mobile phones and pagers) are permitted subject to the discretion of the venue. The Presenter reserves the right to remove a festival ticket holder if they are in breach of the requirements regarding audio visual equipment.

  • Festival wristbands must be worn at all times around the wrist of the festival ticket holder when at the Tanglewood Festival site and while in transit to festival site.

  • Entry to the Tanglewood Festival is only permitted to festival ticket holders who agree to have their bags & vehicles searched on entry for glass, gas bottles and other prohibited items.

  • Tanglewood Festival has the right to use any photos, film or other recordings taken of people or things whilst attending the festival for presentation, promotional or other Tanglewood Festival purposes in perpetuity.

  • Transport to and from Tanglewood Festival will be operated by independent parties. Tanglewood festival accepts no liability for any action or omission by such parties.

  • Some of the artists appearing may use lyrics, language or gestures whilst entertaining that some people may find offensive. If such language or behaviour concerns you, please do not attend.

  • Tanglewood Festival takes no responsibility for loss or damage to personal property.

  • Festival ticket holders acknowledge that participating in an event at the Tanglewood Festival has inherent dangers and 
risks including a risk of serious injury or even death. In the event of injury or illness Tanglewood Festival may, at the cost of the festival ticket holder, arrange medical treatment and/or emergency evacuation as deemed essential for the safety of the festival ticket holder.

  • Entry is at the Festival ticket holder’s own risk. Without limiting the generality of this, appropriate footwear and clothing must be worn at all times on the site and ear plugs should be worn if necessary and Tanglewood Festival takes no responsibility for any hearing damage or loss caused by excessive noise.

  • To the full extent permitted by law, festival ticket holders waive all legal rights of action against and fully release Tanglewood Festival, its agents, employees, members and volunteers for all claims for compensation for loss, damage, injury or death howsoever arising out of or in relation to the festival ticket

  • Festival ticket holders must stay within the boundaries of the Tanglewood Festival site. Tanglewood Festival or Property owners do not take responsibility for festival ticket holders who choose to leave the boundaries or the festival site. Festival ticket Holders who leave, leave at their own risk and may be prosecuted for trespassing beyond Tanglewood Festival site boundaries.

Holder’s participation in the event including without limitation, liability for any negligent or tortious act or omission on the part of the persons released or under statute or for breach of these terms and conditions.

WARNING: If you participate in these activities your rights to sue the supplier under the Fair Trading Act 1999 if you are killed or injured because the activities were not supplied with due care and skill or were not reasonably fit for their purpose, are excluded, restricted or modified in the way set out in or on this notice.

​

NOTE: The change to your rights, as set out in or on this notice, does not apply if your death or injury is due to gross negligence on the supplier’s part. “Gross negligence” is defined in the Fair Trading (Recreational Services) Regulations 2004.

Cancellation, Postponement & Ticket Refund Policy 

​

No refunds will be given on ticket purchases. Tickets are transferable through the ticket page only and with a valid name change all tickets must match valid photo ID. If the event is canceled due to unforeseen circumstances or severe weather out of the festival's control the event will be postponed. Tickets will be transferred to the allocated postponement date. If you are unable to attend the postponement date or the event is canceled and unable to be postponed, the event may withhold part of the total purchase amount with a minimum of 80% of the ticket purchase price less the booking fee (depending on funds already used) will be refunded to all valid ticket holders. 

 

Eviction Policy

While Tanglewood Festival strives to be inclusive to all, the exception to this is when people's actions at the event or previous events make any member of the public or staff feel unsafe or uncomfortable.

 

It is our duty of care as organisers of Tanglewood Festival and as it is stated within our policy and procedures that we ensure the safety of all visitors, contractors, staff and volunteers at the event. Tanglewood Festival reserves the right to refuse entry or evict any persons that are found to be in breach of these polices, rules or terms and conditions of entry or responsibilities of the ticket holder the contract between the ticket holder and the event will be terminated and the ticket holder will be required to leave site immediately.  

 

If the ticket holder does not have transport or are not safe to operate a vehicle, Tanglewood Festival will help facilitate contacting some support for you to leave the event site safely.

 

If after you have been ejected and leave the event; any subsequent return will be trespass and the Police will be notified to support the eviction.

Tanglewood Festival reserves the right to refuse entry and evict any persons who present with aggressive or unsafe behaviour. This includes but is not limited to:

​

  • Aggressive and/or unsafe behaviour

  • Threatening the safety of themselves or others

  • Assaults

  • Found with prohibited items

  • Intoxicated (after warnings to leave licenced area and rest)

  • Sexual harassment or discrimination

  • Gender-based or domestic violence

  • Any harassment that makes a person feel uncomfortable, frightened, or threatened.

  • Any sexual behaviour to which a person does not or cannot consent

 

Any correspondence will be kept in accordance with Privacy Laws.
